There are a lot of garage groups out there, but you have to sift through the shite to find the gems—these guys are a group of mighty sparkling rocks. They are well worth the listen, as soon as the needle drops onto “You’ll Be Mine” you know you’re in for something good. This self-titled LP is the wonderful combination of 1960’s garage punk with a contemporary yet revivalist sound to compliment a definable flair of teenage angst that is perpetrated by some groovy raw vocals. Still want more? Good. Then jump into “Get Lost,” “No, No, No” and “Gone” for good measure, but realize that these numbers are only suggested to wet your appetite. You’ve got to go for the full Monty if you expect to walk away with some sense of satisfaction. The Ar-Kaics know how to play on an iconic, nostalgic sound and I’ll be damned if I’ve heard anyone do it better in recent years. So, do yourself a favor, waltz down to your local record shop and drop some cash for this ditty. You’ll be happy you did.
Now, plug in, turn the volume nob to max and tune in. This shit is the real rock n’roll and it only gets better from here.
