The final single completes the road to the band’s fifth album, out September 4th, with the official release party following at Detune, Milan on September 25th.
The final single before Off The Record features the Milan power pop veterans doing what the genre does best: turning melancholy, frustration and stubborn hope into three minutes of glorious noise.
Waiting for a message you desperately want to receive, while knowing somewhere deep down that it will probably never come. Watching the screen, watching the hours disappear, convincing yourself there’s still a chance.
Melancholy, frustration and determination have always been good fuel for rock’n’roll, and perhaps no genre has learnt to burn that particular combination quite as beautifully as power pop. The greatest songs turn disappointment into momentum, broken hearts into harmonies and another miserable night into a chorus you want to sing to ease the pain.
That’s exactly where Radio Days find “Another Lonely Night”, the fifth and final single from their forthcoming album Off The Record, out September 4th via Wild Honey Records.

The title may promise loneliness, but the music has always other secret plans. Four-on-the-floor drums push relentlessly forward, a killer guitar riff cuts through the gloom and the band’s trademark vocal harmonies lift everything towards a chorus built for collective release. Three minutes in which waiting becomes movement and melancholy somehow acquires a pulse.
The accompanying video follows the same tension, hurtling through night-time cityscapes, subway rides, speeding lights and flashes of almost psychedelic imagery. The world keeps moving while someone, somewhere, is still staring at a phone.
With “Another Lonely Night”, the journey towards Off The Record is almost at its destination, and the ride so far has been quite something. The singles have been met with an enthusiasm that has grown with each release, picking up radio play along the way and leading to a special feature in Shindig!. There was a last-minute sweaty show at Punk Rock Raduno, then another surprise when the first vinyl copies of the album appeared, unannounced, at the band’s earliest live previews.
What began with “I Won’t Give Up” now feels considerably bigger than the trail of singles leading towards a new record. With September 4th finally in sight, Off The Record is shaping up to be a defining album for Radio Days, perhaps the most important of their career.
One last lonely night, then. But the record is almost here.
