Rotterdam-based band Tramhaus is set to bring their infectious energy to the United Kingdom with their first-ever UK tour in February 2024.

This 5-piece force, made up of Lukas (vocals), Nadya (guitar), Micha (guitar), Julia (bass) and Jim (drums), are taking the Dutch music scene by storm. Their story began organically over beers, when Nadya, Lukas and Julia sparked the idea. Jim hopped on board thanks to a well-timed text and Micha completed the picture. Fast friends and even faster musicians, they poured their passion into creating the electrifying sound that is Tramhaus.

Though their roots reach beyond Rotterdam (Micha hails from near Utrecht, Nadya from Amsterdam and the rest are Rotterdam natives), the city serves as their creative homebase. And what a melting pot of musical backgrounds they are! Micha and Jim jammed together in Goodnight Moonlight, Lukas and Micha rocked with Pig Frenzy, Nadya fronted Vulva, and amazingly, this is Julia’s first musical adventure!

Their name, Tramhaus, is as unique as their sound. It all started with a funny mix-up at their first meeting. Nadya meant to say “Traams,” but “Tramhaus” (which also happens to be a famous Rotterdam snack bar) accidentally slipped out. The name stuck, reflecting their local connection and quirky charm.

When it comes to songwriting, Tramhaus is a true team. Ideas bounce around during rehearsals, fueled by experimentation and collaboration. You never know what sonic gem will emerge from their jam sessions!

Get ready to crank up the volume, because their debut album is dropping later this year! Expect fresh tracks and teasers in the coming months. While Idles and Viagra Boys were their initial inspirations, their sound has evolved to draw from Sonic Youth, Turnstile, Title Fight, and even Nirvana.

Last year was a whirlwind for Tramhaus, with a sold-out show at Rotterdam’s Maassilo and a surprise Japan tour that started as a joke and became a reality. Now, they’re setting their sights on the UK in February, followed by SXSW in March and a summer packed with festival gigs. And of course, the album release promises even more Tramhaus shows to rock out to!
