Abject narcissism is our only real code of conduct anymore. Everything is thinly veiled self-interest. The post-modern post social media condition constitutes a complete death of outwardness. We are smothered by the infinite present. We have swapped art for the history of art. The game is up. The party’s over… NO SURRENDER!
Fat White Family return with ‘Religion For One’. Their creative engines haven’t idled over the past four years. Since the unveiling of their widely praised album ‘Serfs Up’, their endeavors have spanned a spectrum of ingenuity. Noteworthy among these exploits, they ingeniously recreated ‘The Shawshank Redemption’ using their phones and Instagram, lent their support to Liam Gallagher during his monumental solo performance at Knebworth, crafted and showcased a visually captivating short film titled ‘Moonbathing in February’ with shades reminiscent of Bergman’s style and lead vocalist Lias Saoudi penned a gripping bestseller chronicling the band’s turbulent ascent to a moderate stardom titled ‘Fat White Family and the Miracle of Failure’.
In recent times, the band has taken center stage, headlined Mutations festival while delighting audiences at sold-out shows in Leeds, Manchester, and London.
The video for ‘Religion For One’, a portrait of corrupt ambition, aesthetic incest and the history of abstract expressionism was shot in Paris and directed by ‘The Dream Machine’ Michael William West.
