Well, here we are in December of one of the most fucked up years that I can remember. Almost everyone that meant anything real in the music art scene has died, Donald Trump became president of America, and Native Americans are still being persecuted by white people. I’m a Native and I can say that shit. But at least we have a long awaited LP in these guys. For what i refer to the good ol days of the modern garage rock explosion or whatever, Personal and the Pizzas are at the top of the list as being one of the most underrated. The only dudes that had the guts to tell Macaulay Culkin to fuck off in a press release, as he was pushing his stupid Velvet Underground mockery band “The Pizza Underground”.

The last time I had the opportunity to see them live was the epic Goner Fest 6 lineup over 7 years ago. Time flies folks but it has been a blessing for the Pizzas. They took breaks when they didn’t tour, and didn’t just wear out the stick as most of the bands from the genre tend to do. It becomes more of a special event that way when they play and with that in mind, this is the most complete thing they have ever released. It’s a true work of punk rock that hasn’t yet been spotlighted enough. I damn sure hope that with this release a tour is in the works (maybe a show for Heatwave?). Now it’s the best time to do it. The world is in chaos. Nothing better than beer, pizza, rock and roll and a good time to balance things out. There isn’t even a tiny bit of filler here. You can just hear the chains clanking, the dough being rolled out with every riff. Pizzas rule and you probably don’t. But if you order this one from Slovenly, you can at least get a taste of the good sauce. It’s the perfect flavour to end 2016 on a good note.
